Past Meeting
The Carrboro Town Council met virtually Tuesday, Dec. 1, and took the following actions:
- Amendments to the Town of Carrboro Advisory Board Recruitment and Appointment Policy
The Town Council asked staff to modify the language in the policy to reflect their priorities related to expanding the racial diversity and representation on advisory boards. The Council requested quarterly reports on the makeup of advisory boards. The Town will explore future funds for transportation and childcare stipends for advisory board volunteers. - Public Hearing on Updated Bicycle Plan
Based on feedback received from the Council and members of the public, a number of changes have been made to the Updated Bike Plan to ensure the document reflects Carrboro's priorities. The Council provided additional input and requested the item return for Council consideration and possible vote in January. - Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and Independent Audit
The Town is required to produce annually a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report that includes financial statements that have been audited by an independent certified public accounting firm. This report is submitted to the North Carolina Local Government Commission (LGC) and presented to the Town Council each year. The Council accepted the CAFR for fiscal year ended June 30, 2020. - Orange County Transit Plan Update
The Council received an update on the status of the Orange County Transit Plan update, reviewed current capital projects funded by the plan, and considered future capital projects identified by staff. - Mural Update - Facing Race Embracing Equity installation at the Carrboro Town Hall
The Council discussed the Facing Race Embracing Equity mural installation at Carrboro Town Hall, including preferred location, paint color and design; and community participation. This item will be brought back for additional consideration by the Council. - COVID-19 Update
